About the project

Cathy Hardy is a UK-based Quantum Energy Channeller and Life Coach — a certified QHHT® practitioner running one-to-one sessions, life coaching packages, meditation circles, and paid workshops around specific astrological events (the Lions Gate Portal, solstices, and other seasonal moments). Her client base is a mixture of long-term coaching clients, one-off QHHT session bookers, and a wider community who attend her live and Zoom-based events.

She came to us needing something specific: a website that could sell a genuinely mixed catalogue of digital and in-person offerings without feeling like an obviously-transactional shop. A yoga studio’s bookings site wouldn’t suit; a coaching brochure site with a “contact me to book” button wouldn’t either. She needed both worlds — a warm, calm, brand-appropriate presence that also happened to have a working WooCommerce store quietly humming underneath.

We were brought in to deliver the full package: brand identity for the digital space, a custom WordPress theme, and a WooCommerce course booking platform capable of handling everything from free consultations through to variable-price coaching packages and premium QHHT sessions.

The challenge

The main challenge on this project was the product catalogue diversity. Cathy’s offerings don’t fit a single template. There are:

  • Fixed-price digital courses like the Lions Gate Portal Zoom Video (£8.88) — instant-access digital delivery, single price point, no scheduling required
  • Fixed-price live events like Lions Gate Portal Live on Dartmoor (£8.88) — same price but scheduled, in-person, capacity-limited
  • Variable-price course levels like Meditation Level 1 and Level 2 (£11–£55) — where the price varies depending on format (single session, package, bundled with follow-up)
  • Variable-price coaching packages (£55–£300) — with different session-count options at different price tiers
  • Premium fixed-price sessions like QHHT sessions (£333) — a specific service with a specific price, requiring proper scheduling
  • Free offerings like the 30-minute discovery consultation (£0) — still needing to route through the booking flow to capture contact details and calendar the appointment, but at zero cost

A generic template store would have made a mess of this. Free products often behave oddly in cart flows. Variable-price products need considered UI to make the pricing intelligible. Live events need capacity limits and scheduling. Premium sessions need serious payment protection. And all of it needed to sit inside a design that felt warm, considered, and appropriate to the audience — not the clinical eCommerce aesthetic most WooCommerce themes ship with.

The secondary challenge was tone. Cathy’s work sits in the wellness and spiritual space — an audience that reads visual cues carefully and disengages fast when something feels overly commercial. The site needed to feel personal, calm, and authentic while doing the very commercial job of processing bookings and payments.

Our approach

We started by mapping the product catalogue thoroughly before touching any design work. Every existing and planned offering got a row in a spreadsheet with columns for price behaviour (fixed / variable / free), delivery type (in-person / Zoom / digital / hybrid), scheduling requirements, capacity limits, and follow-up flow. That upfront work paid for itself many times over — it gave us a clear picture of which WooCommerce product types (simple, variable, grouped) applied where, what plugins we’d need to layer in for scheduling, and where the edge cases were.

The visual direction landed on a calm, considered aesthetic — a soft palette drawn from Cathy’s brand foundation, atmospheric photography (starfields, cosmic imagery, natural landscapes) that carries the metaphysical side of the work without ever tipping into cliche, and elegant typography that reads reassuring rather than transactional. The header uses a striking cosmic background image with soft particle effects; product tiles use full-image treatments so the visual weight leads with imagery rather than price. Trust and warmth first; commercial mechanics second.

For the WooCommerce implementation, we treated the shop as a “Courses” page rather than a “Store,” used product photography that reads as course artwork rather than product shots, and made price display consistent whether an item is free, fixed, or variable. Booking flows integrate directly with Cathy’s calendar so scheduled products (QHHT sessions, live events, coaching sessions) never double-book. The free 30-minute consultation still routes through the standard checkout to capture proper contact details — giving Cathy the same follow-up capability she has for a paying client from day one of the relationship.

The wider site is a proper WordPress build with a custom theme, letting Cathy update content, add courses, publish blog posts, and manage her testimonials without needing us in the middle. Content editing was designed for her workflow specifically; every editable region on the site has clear labelling in the admin.

What we delivered

  • Complete brand identity for the digital space — logo, tree icon, colour palette, type system, and image treatment guidelines that carry consistently across the site, social, and email
  • Custom WordPress theme — tuned to Cathy’s content workflow and editorial needs
  • Full WooCommerce course booking platform — supporting simple, variable-price and free products alongside each other in a single coherent catalogue
  • Multi-price-point product handling — fixed prices (£8.88 events, £333 sessions), variable ranges (£11–£55 courses, £55–£300 coaching packages), and free products (£0 consultations) all rendering intelligibly in the same catalogue view
  • Scheduling integration — QHHT sessions, live events, and coaching calls tied to real availability, no double-bookings possible
  • Free consultation booking flow — routed through the standard checkout so Cathy captures full contact details and calendar time, even for £0 bookings
  • Live event capacity management — Lions Gate Portal on Dartmoor and similar in-person events have real limits that sell out cleanly
  • Digital delivery for course videos — Zoom recordings and companion materials deliver automatically after purchase, no manual admin required from Cathy
  • Meditation Circles landing page — dedicated section for the community meditation offering
  • Life Coaching landing page — separate flow for the coaching packages with their own detailed positioning
  • What Is QHHT explanation — an educational content page for prospects unfamiliar with the technique, with linked calls-to-action for the free consultation
  • Testimonial and social proof integration — client testimonials threaded through the site rather than dumped on a single page
  • Blog with proper categorisation — Cathy publishes reflective pieces and the blog is set up for good ongoing SEO
  • Mobile-first responsive build — the majority of wellness-industry traffic is mobile; the site is engineered for it first
  • Payment processing — Stripe for card payments, fully PCI-compliant, with proper receipt and refund handling
  • Order management & automated notifications — confirmation, reminder, and follow-up emails handled without Cathy touching the admin
  • UK-hosted infrastructure — SSL, backups, GDPR-compliant data handling, ready to scale as the practice grows
  • SEO foundations — structured for “QHHT practitioner UK,” “quantum healing hypnosis,” “life coach Suffolk” and related buyer-intent searches, with product schema on the course catalogue

Why it works

Most one-person practitioner sites fall into one of two traps. Either they’re brochure sites with “contact me to book” buttons that add friction and lose bookings — the practitioner ends up doing manual admin around every enquiry. Or they’re generic WooCommerce sites where the “shop” aesthetic feels cold and mercantile in a space where the transaction needs to feel like the start of a relationship, not a purchase.

The Cathy Hardy site avoids both traps by doing one specific thing well: it treats the shop as an integral part of a warm, considered brand experience rather than a bolt-on. The courses page reads like an invitation, not a catalogue. Free consultations get the same booking treatment as paid sessions — a signal that Cathy takes those prospective relationships seriously from day one. Product tiles lead with atmospheric imagery, with pricing as a secondary detail. The whole experience feels like walking into a considered, well-run studio rather than clicking “add to cart” on a generic marketplace.

The multi-price-point handling is the quiet technical win. Wellness practitioners commonly grow their offering over time — adding new courses, new session types, new coaching packages at different price tiers — and generic templates struggle to keep up. The catalogue architecture we built handles all of that without visual clutter, so Cathy can add new offerings as her practice evolves without needing to rebuild the site each time.
